On August 2 at 3:00 p.m., cellist Kirill Varyash and pianist Lelde Tirēle will appear in concert at the Riga History and Navigation Museum, presenting the chamber music program “In the Light of Romanticism.”
The recital explores the rich emotional landscape of nineteenth-century Romanticism through three iconic works, tracing its artistic evolution from intimate lyricism to profound philosophical expression. Beginning with Franz Schubert’s poetic Arpeggione Sonata, continuing through the imaginative and emotionally charged Fantasiestücke by Robert Schumann, and culminating in César Franck’s monumental Sonata in A major, the program reveals the remarkable breadth and depth of the Romantic tradition.
